• Charlene Fernetz, who plays Sabrina's Dad's girlfriend, Gail, played Aunt Zelda in the Sabrina, the Teenage Witch movie. (Zelda was the ``wacky'' one in the movie.)
• At the end of this episode, Sabrina gets to see her mom. This blatantly violates (IMO) one of the rules set out in ``Pilot'' (#001), that she can't ``set eyes on'' her mother or she (the mother) will be turned into a ball of wax. In any case, I think maybe -- just maybe -- Sabrina's mom is played by Melissa's real-life mom, Paula. Can't be sure, though... it's a really quick shot from a weird, overhead angle. And even more tenuous is my belief that Sabrina's mom's assistant (called ``cute'' by Sabrina) might be played by Melissa's stepfather, Leslie (president of Hartbreak Films, which produces STTW). If this is true, it would be the ``mother of all inside-jokes'' in the first season!
• When this episode was first shown in the U.K. (ITV, 13 Sep 97), it was massively edited.

  it can't have been more than about 18 minutes long. There was no prelude to the episode either. It seemed rather fragmented too...

  1. The bit before the titles which sets the whole 'can't unscrew the jar top' thing up. (30 seconds max)
  2. The scene where everybody dresses/talks in Chinese [...] (About 2 minutes)
  3. The scene after Sabrina jumps into her magic book and talks with the Index Keeper guy. (another 2 minutes or so)
