Nobody's perfect... Here are some messages about mistakes people have seen in CEIA episodes. (See also my DYN page, Mistakes.)
New Title Sequence. There seems to be what I think are techical errors in the new sequence. When Clarissa finally spells Clarissa, it doesn't match the ``Clarissa'' after they flip the title around. Also the line weight is too thin. Moreover, the actors names don't show up when they run the sequence backwards at the end. Last, Jason Zimbler's name, the actor who plays Fergus has his name rendered differently than the other actors names. For lines after the first, the names seem upshifted, but they didn't do this for Zimbler. Enough nitpicking.
(No need to dwell on the plot hole where by FIVE ACRES of trees were supposed to be put under glass in a MINI-MALL.)
There's something definitely wrong with the parent's time line -- they keep making references to the '60s, and have set Marshall and Janet in college then, but the '17 years after high school' since Janet saw Joey Russo would put her at about 34 or 35, and a mid-seventies high school graduate. (As a mid-seventies high school graduate myself, I can assure the younger viewers that the '60s were Dead and Buried by then.)
In the 'No TV' episode, Clarissa gets a Big Remote that, she says, can change channels at the Kennedy Space Center, ``30 miles away''... So they must be in Florida, right?>and I know they're not in Florida (Elvis had to be taken back there).
Exactly. Guess the writers aren't into consistency...
Does anyone happen to have a favorite episode?I think mine was the one in which Marshall was to speak at Career Night. I loved the ``Dad From Hell'' excerpt and I was laughing hysterically at Sam's and Marshall's rap performance! ``Da house, da house...'' Was it me, or did the music actually stop before Clarissa hit the ``stop'' button on the tape player?
I don't know right now, but I think I remember that in the episode where Clarissa gets sick, when her mother opens her windowshades in the morning there is a delay before it gets light in her room
More evidence that the writers aren't into consistency: In 'N.P.P', the Darling's street address is '44 Shadow Lane'. But in the 'Career Night' episode, in the scene where Marshall is being dragged off by the cops (for forgetting the twisty ties on the trash bags), if you look closely over the door you'll see '464'.
In Clarissa's opening monologue, after each shot from her ``camera'', there's the whir from an autowinder. However, if you look at her camera, it's a manual advance SLR.
Either my tape machine was haunted Saturday night, or NICK's was -- there was one bit that ran twice (deja vu?), during the scene where Marshall tries the Phillipine Face Goo (look closely, and see Ms. Hart walk through the boom mike shadow), a video skip during the 'Whirling Dervishes', and an audio burp when she gets Janet to buy the lottery ticket.
They still have the 1992 calendar hanging in the kitchen. This means that either the events portrayed are still supposed to have taken place in 1992, or no one in the Darling household has bothered to replace it.
Good eyes, I didn't spot that. Since the credits have a '93 copyright, I think you've spotted a Props Oversight.
- Character nuitContity note: Two years ago Clarissa was in Thomas Tupper JR. High, right? Apparently not -- she was checking out band instruments, marked T.T.H.S, from her high school band teacher. Guess that goes along with Clifford Spleenhurfer's recent promotion to the senior class between Commitment and Boy Thoughts...
- Episode nuitContity note: watch the picture of Clarissa on the refrigerator door while Ferg and Janet discuss EMF.
