Melissa's mother/agent, Paula, had her seventh child, a girl named Samantha -- after Elizabeth Montgomery's character in Bewitched -- sometime circa mid-Nov 96.

As part of a story about streaming video and the VivoActive player on C-Net's The Web, they showed a portion of one of ABC's little promotional movies for STTW. They actually let us hear the audio portion that said, ``Melissa Joan Hart is Sabrina, the teenage witch!''

According to ``clarissa'' list member Joe Armenio, Melissa was mentioned on Jeopardy. He says:

Melissa was the answer to a question on the "Jeopardy Teen Tournament" (or, more properly, the question to an answer). And it was a Video Daily Double, no less! The category was "Actors and Their Roles," and the clue was something like, "Bewitching role played in prime time by the actress seen here," followed by a picture of Melissa. The kid said "Sabrina, the Teen Witch," and they gave it to him, which surprised me because the judges are usually pretty strict.
Sun, 16 Mar 1997, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman
Melissa was not a guest-star on an episode of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman! She was originally slated to be in an episode to air on 23 Feb 97; this was later pushed back to 16 Mar 97. According to ``KalElFan'' in alt.tv.lois-N-Clark:

#16 - US air date Mar/16/97 -- (Title Uncertain) Written by Jeff Vlaming (wrote for X-Files last year)
This episode will guest star Melissa Joan Hart, the actress who plays Sabrina, The Teenage Witch on the ABC Friday night show. (She wasn't available when they wanted to do #14, which is why this episode got pushed back to #16). Jimmy will be a big player in this episode.

Unfortunately, according to ``Zoomway'':

apprently writer Tim Minear made a surprise appearance in the Lois and Clark chat room and said that due to the delays caused by Dean's flu and filming shuting down for that week, Melissa Joan Hart of "Sabrina" was no longer available, and so Justin Whalin's real girlfriend will play the part of the girl who gets a wrong impression ;) Tim said she worked out wonderfully, but the show could have used the publicity from the Sabrina chick ;)

Melissa studied art and literature in Florence this summer.
By the way, she said in an ABC Cybercast chat (in May, I think):

I probably won't make it back to school until next summer. But I plan to keep it up.

Melissa was mentioned in connection with a Celebrity Kids Cruise (sailing around the Caribbean) benefitting Starlight Foundation International. (See first link above for more info.) But she couldn't have been on it, since she was supposed to be studying in Italy this summer.

Melissa was scheduled to appear on The Vicki Lawrence Show, but wasn't because the show ceased production! (They showed a repeat episode instead.)

The series Inside Edition (probably syndicated) which aired in New York on WPIX [WB affiliated] channel 11 today at noon had a feature specifically on the segment of Christmas Miracles involving the set of STTW. They added an interesting piece of information: Amanda [if I got the name right] doesn't celebrate Christmas because she's Jewish, and she wrote the letter for a class assignment. She also described how excited she was when MJH entered.
